I also run an unsigned band resource site called the AK Music Scene - www.akmusicscene.com as well as www.billswebstudio.info where I design websites for unsigned bands.
The Pennsylvania Rock Show has been something that I've put a ton of time and money into since September 14, 2004 when we had our very first impromptu show. I do everything from booking the bands to running the sound board, from DJing to website design... The bands that I have worked with over the years have welcomed me to the music scene even though I can't play an instrument or sing. This show and AK Music Scene website are my way of giving back to the scene.
I've been involved with unsigned music since 1996 when I designed my first band website for a Pennsylvania band known as "Hybrid" I got hooked. There is a ton of talent being ignored by record labels, and I for one am not willing to ignore the talent. Join "all" of us as we support unsigned music, here, there, and every where.
No, this is not my day job. I make absolutely no money off of the show. I do this radio show for the love of music. Unfortunately, that means I have to fund the equipment out of my own pocket and from donations that listeners and bands (Wall of Donators) send my way. I'm currently a Computer and Science teacher at a private school about 50 miles from my home. So every minute I spend on the show is valuable.
