The Show
The Pennsylvania Rock Show is a live, 3 hour, weekly internet radio show that features a studio guest and is full of songs from the best unsigned bands Pennsylvania has to offer. It airs live every Friday, 8pm-11pm Eastern Standard Time (7pm-10pm Central Standard Time). The show is then rebroadcast on a growing number of stations every night of the week on some of the biggest internet radio stations out there, and is also available on demand on several sites as well. The show is DJ'ed by Bill Domiano of the Alle-Kiski Music Scene and runs commercial free. There are great interactive features with, a live webcam, chat, and they have just added a call-in line. A new weekly segment called "Get Outta Town", that plays 3 songs from bands outside of PA, proved the shows popularity, as bands from all over the world are submitting material and coming to town to be interviewed. Bill makes every effort possible to ensure every band is heard and feels right at home when they come to visit. As it is still becoming one of the fastest growing internet radio shows, it creates an avenue for world wide exposure for which otherwise bands would not have any outlets other than a local bar or party.
Show History
It all started out as a favor to the owner of indie band radio,, when they were having computer problems, Bill would log into the streaming server and keep the station going, helping to make it the biggest unsigned internet station at the time. After doing this a few times, Bill decided that playing Pennsylvania bands could also help the local Alle-Kiski Music Scene out. So, the first ever "Pennsylvania Rock Show" took place on September 14, 2004, and was hosted by Bill and Brian Shaffer. The show consisted of Bill & Brian dejaying through a pc mic that Brian donated, playing the mp3s that he had collected through his work with the Alle-Kiski Music Scene. At the end of the show, Brian turned to Bill and said, "you know this could get big". The next show, Brian brought Curt Costanzo's sound equipment, and were streaming live music from Leechburg, Pennsylvania. That second show also consisted of live performances by members of (kaj), Rockabilly Junction, and Scratch.
Since then, the show has been providing Pennsylvania's unsigned bands with a way to get their music heard by bringing them into the studio for live performances and, adding their music to the playlist allowing their music to be heard world wide! No money is made from advertisements of any kind! It's all done for the love of the local music scene! There is however, a support page where fans can make donations by purchasing stickers. All the money that is made goes directly back into the show, as well as some personal money, and has been used to purchase: a mixers, compressor, microphones, stands, cords, and so on...
Some of our Show's Accomplishments
Some bands that have played the show have been offered and/or signed production agreements with local producers. Some bands have been finalist to play the 2006 Rolling Rock Town Fair, after being contacted by them and asked to supply a list of bands to check out. Some of the musicians on the show, have been used as session players. Other live guests have also hooked up with similar bands on the playlist to play shows together. On many occasions, major record labels and signed artists to local radio stations and syndicated radio DJs have been tuned into the show. (see the Famous Listener page and the About the Show page) It takes many small steps to travel long distances, if PARS is one of those small steps, then great.

I was First Introduced to the Pa Rock Show when it Aired on Indie Band Radio. After a Few weeks, I was hooked. The PA Rock Show Provides a perfect blend of Music and Talk while Keeping it home grown and adding a Comical twist. Among the other Radio shows, I'd say the Pennslvania rock show is personally my favorite radio show, The rest of the Lex and Terry Morning Show Network staff Seems to agree. Please do anything you can possible to keep the PA Rock Show spirit alive. I urge you to donate today and help out!

"As you know we don't usually support many groups or organizations because they usually have their own hidden agenda or are just using TME to further their own cause. We have found the PARS to be a very genuine program and the work that Bill Domiano and his wife Kelly do for the Alle-Kiski area bands is like nothing we have ever seen. TME will always pledge our support for you guys!!!"

This is William Washington from RadioTGO, which broadcasts PARS live every Friday, which should say enough in how much this show is truly means to us. When RadioTGO first launched, one of the first shows we wanted was the Pennsylvania Rock Show. Hell, I'll be the first to say that one of my personal all time favorite bands is Kaj and I wouldn't even know of them if it wasn't for the Bill and this very show. It's been a wild two years listening to the show and I look forward to listening to two more. I'll call the strippers!

"The Pennsylvania Rock Show is a montage of artists who enjoy performing live music and listeners who enjoy hearing a new mix of unsigned local PA Bands and Artists. PARS is full of surprises, slight mayhem, and awesome commentary. I run PARS on my station because there's no show exactly like it around. I've yet to find another show featuring bands from a single state. Bill, keep up your hard work, it WILL be worth it VERY soon! Anyone who hasn't listened to PARS at LEAST once is missing out on many gems in bands, like kaj, Level SD, Fountain Infinity, just to name a few. PARS is awesome!"

"The PA ROCK SHOW is the best indy rock show I've ever heard on the internet. I have learned about so many new bands from PA that I might just move there. Great show BILL and keep up the good work, ROCK TOWN loves the PA ROCK SHOW"

The PA Rock Show is a one of a kind internet broadcast that allows
independent musicians such as myself to have an outlet to get their
music heard that otherwise may not be heard or broadcast by corporate
conglomerates or other mainstream radio stations. Kudos to the PA Rock
Show / AK Music Scene for all they do to support the independent
musician and music scene. Two thumbs way up!!!

As the station owner for Wild Mountain Radio, I can say that Bill HAS accomplished something. I was a long time listener to PARS before I started my own station last year and have carried the show since. My listeners enjoy PARS and several have stated it is the #1 reason for listening! So Bill is doing something right. Keep it up Bill!

Band Testimonials

Recently SickleEye went on a road trip to Pittsburgh to be guests on the "PA Rock Show," an internet based radio show hosted by Bill Domiano that showcases the "indie" rock scene in Pennsylvania. They did an on air interview and played a couple of their tunes live and un-plugged in the studio. "Playing un-plugged was a bit of a stretch for hard and heavy rockers like us, but I think we did ok. The main thing is, the tunes we chose for the show translated very well into an acoustic format," said bassist Joe Hudson. "We had a blast," said vocalist Sam Hudson. "Bill, Kelly, and the gang made us feel very comfortable and right at home. I hope we do it again sometime."

"The PARS is a very useful outlet for up and coming bands. When we were starting out they gave us an opportunity to play live in their home studio, and they put our first single into heavy rotation. Another great thing about the PARS is the connections that they have. For example, our live studio performance was heard on at least seven other internet radio stations throughout the week. Basically, any band in Western Pennsylvania who doesn't take advantage of what the PARS offers is crazy."

As an artist, I'm always looking for new outlets and ways to get my band heard. As a musician living in Southwestern Pennsylvania, there isn't much left when it comes to the music scene. Thankfully, something like the PARS exists. Not only can I get my recordings heard, but they also allow me to book time in the studio and play acoustic live on the air! More of these kinds of things need to exist. Long Live the PARS!!

"Hey all! Derek here from Big With Seed. After perusing this "shoutbox" function, I just wanted to add that Bill has done remarkable things for the local music scene around the valley. While others may be able to provide their own stories, I'd like to add that Bill and the PA Rock Show created an opportunity for BWS' Spoonfred (Derek's Jam) to be played on WDVE for the first time. Thanks not only for that, Bill, but also for the genuine effort you put forth into this community. Cheers!"

I believe we are sooner or later we're not going to have a place or places to play. Maybe the PARS resolves this????

in addition to the exposure we get from the radio broadcast, the PA Rock Show has done a great deal toward making all of these individual projects meet one another and begin networking together which is what defines it as a "scene". Also the "rock show" continues to support, promote and help organize many local events. So what has the "PA Rock Show" done for "All My Monsters.." quite a lot. Thanks Bill.....catch ya soon....

Here is what the P.A. rock show has done for my band Kaj! We were heard from reps. at 102.5 wdve and 93.7 k-rock on the show that ultimately got us aired on the stations! Got played on the LEX and TERRY show from being on the P.A. rock show. Gained numerous contacts from other bands that have played the show, which in turn provided us with more shows, money, etc. I could keep going...

Hey man, the guys and I just wanted to thank you again for the opportunity to play on the PARS. Not only is it an awesome way to build a network with other bands, but also you always have that opportunity to be heard by some one in the industry. I mean, if it wasn't for that night playing your show SickleEye probably wouldn't have been contacted by Tony from TME, and we wouldn't have the killer tunes we have now. Anyway, I won't write a book, just wanted to say thanks... and don't forget to listen to the new tunes at www.myspace.com/sickleeye
